12 Animals That Celebrities Like To Imitate Posted: 26 Jul 2009 05:28 AM PDT ![]() A penguin is an aquatic and flightless bird that lives in the Southern Hemisphere. Penguins are considered the most sophisticated bird since their plumage is often compared to a tuxedo. But there is nothing sophisticated about Diane Kruger and Danny DeVito dressing up or even acting like a penguin. These outfits should be sent to the Southern Hemisphere themselves. ![]() ![]() ![]() A leopard is a member of the cat family. The leopard is known for having rosettes instead of simple spots like a cheetah. Eva Longoria, Brooke Hogan, Sharon Stone, Naomi Campbell, Paris Hilton, and Nicky Hilton have all tried sporting the same look, but it just contributes to a fashion disaster. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Flamingos are long-legged birds that are normally pink in color. Flamingos usually stand on one leg for unknown reasons. Flamingos eat shrimp and algae. One flamingo was spotted showing up to the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards. Oh wait, no that was Christina Aguilera covered in pink feathers. ![]() ![]() A polar bear is a mammal that is native to the Arctic Ocean. Although most are born on land, polar bears spend most of their time in the frozen sea. Global warming is a threat to polar bear because melting ice makes it harder for the bears to find food. The polar has it's fair share of problems already, but Kate Moss just had to add to it with this unnecessary outfit. ![]() ![]() The crow is a passerine bird that symbolizes death. A group of crows is even called "murder." Some crows are known for killing weak lambs and eating parts from recently dead animals. The crow is also known for spreading the West Nile virus. Naomi Campbell dressed like a crow is just embarrassing. ![]() ![]() Big Bird isn't a real animal. Big Bird is also a Muppet. As a matter of fact, he is the main character of Sesame Street. The Big Bird costume was put together by American Plume & Fancy Feather. Kate Hudson is either a big fan, celebrating Halloween, or is just on crazy pills. ![]() ![]() A bat is a flying mammal that has hands and a body. Bats are known to have poor vision, but they aren't blind. Bats are mostly active during the night and are known to live in caves. The DC comic superhero was named after a bat, but Adam West does not do the flying creature justice with this outfit. ![]() ![]() A wolverine is part of the weasel family. Wolverines are known as the mascot of the University of Michigan and for the mutant in the comic book. Wolverines are covered in brown fur and muscular. Wolverines also have sharp claws. This brings me to Hugh Jackman. While Jackman does a great job depicting the comic book character, I don't see any brown fur around that tank top and jeans. ![]() ![]() The peacock (also known as the peafowl) is a bird that has a crest placed on top of their heads and has a tail with the most beautiful quill feathers. During the mating season, peacocks make a high pitched cry. I almost made a high pitched cry when seeing Keira Knightley wearing this atrocity. ![]() ![]() A cat is a mammal that can either be domesticated or be a feline. Cats are known for companionship and using vocalizations for communication. This includes meowing, purring, hissing, growling, grunting, etc. Halle Berry makes us all want to do the aforementioned vocalizations with this outfit. Surely she was forced to wear this outfit as a prerequisite for the movie, but this in no way depicts a cat. ![]() ![]() Swans are birds that are closely related to geese and ducks. Swans are known for mating their whole life and for their gracious white feathers. They are known for their grace and beauty. Icelandic singer Björk is just the opposite. Placing one of these gracious creatures around the neck is just embarrassing for the bird. ![]() ![]() A skunk is a mammal with black fur and white stripes. Skunks have the ability to excrete a foul odor. Skunks eat mostly bugs, fungi, nuts, and berries. With these outfits, Kate Moss and Kate Boswort will remind you of our smelly weasel friend. ![]() ![]() |
10 Memorable Thanksgiving Snapshots Of U.S. Presidents Posted: 26 Jul 2009 05:20 AM PDT "I do therefore invite my fellow citizens in every part of the United States, and also those who are at sea and those who are sojourning in foreign lands, to set apart and observe the last Thursday of November next, as a day of Thanksgiving and Praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the Heavens. And I recommend to them that while offering up the ascriptions justly due to Him for such singular deliverances and blessings, they do also, with humble penitence for our national perverseness and disobedience, commend to His tender care all those who have become widows, orphans, mourners or sufferers in the lamentable civil strife in which we are unavoidably engaged, and fervently implore the interposition of the Almighty Hand to heal the wounds of the nation and to restore it as soon as may be consistent with the Divine purposes to the full enjoyment of peace, harmony, tranquillity and Union."
